ICEBOX Challenge and celebration Fort Collins, Colorado

  • City of Fort Collins Utilities Administration Building 222 Laporte Avenue Fort Collins, CO, 80521 United States (map)

The Ice Box Challenge is a global public installation event that demonstrates the power of energy-efficient homes. One box is built to local building requirements and the other is built to be exceptionally energy-efficient. The Ice Boxes are then left outside in the sun for two weeks. When they are opened, the amount of ice left in each box will be measured. How much ice is left shows how well each Ice Box keeps out the summer heat!

Sustainable building design can help us reduce our environmental impact without changing our behavior. Electrification allows us to maximize the use of renewable energy and reduce carbon emissions.

Kick-off July 1. Event and unveiling July 15!

B.PUBLIC Prefab is proud to support this public event and education by providing the high-performance icebox.
