🔍 Session Topics:
This day of workshops will feature three focused sessions, each designed to spark meaningful conversations and provide practical tools around the future of housing in Milwaukee. Attend one or stay for all. Everyone is welcome.
12:00-1:00pm: Design & Off-Site Processes for Prefabricated Construction
Learn how to design for high-performance buildings using ICC 1200 codes and the latest off-site construction standards. This workshop dives into digital twin coordination, assembly set processes, and design perimeters that maximize the potential of panelized prefab. You’ll leave with insight into performance specifications that streamline delivery and raise the bar for quality and efficiency. Lunch provided.
3:00-4:00pm: Off-Site Construction for Builders
Explore how prefabrication reshapes labor, scheduling, and cost compared to traditional building methods. In this session, we’ll cover everything from pre-install site prep and material handling to troubleshooting and layout on-site. Builders will walk away with practical knowledge for bidding and estimating turnkey high-performance projects. Light appetizers provided.
5:00-6:00pm: Building Science & Environmental Design
Discover the core principles of building science and how they shape energy performance, durability, and indoor comfort. This session will highlight practical design strategies for boosting thermal efficiency and air quality while reducing energy use. You’ll also gain a clear understanding of embodied and operational carbon, and how smart material choices can dramatically shrink a building’s overall footprint. Light appetizers provided
