Builder Spotlight: Interview with Aviva Bauman
Aviva Bauman
Contractor and B.PUBLIC Panel Installer
For Aviva Bauman, building has never been separate from life. Raised in Santa Fe as the daughter of longtime contractor Aram Farber (Adobeworks) and realtor Laurie Farber-Condon, she came to construction by way of a multidisciplinary background. Returning to New Mexico brought her full circle: today, she runs Wildflower Construction, and is a trained B.PUBLIC Installer.
Her first B.PUBLIC project had wall and roof panels assembled in just 4.5 hours. The homeowners were quick to sing her praises, describing how Wildflower Construction brought both technical expertise and creative problem-solving to every aspect of the build, and delivered a beautiful, modern home that exceeded what they had imagined.
In this Builder Spotlight, she talks about growing up in construction, the craft of building, and why B.PUBLIC felt like a natural fit.

What was your inspiration (or motivation) for entering into this field?
I grew up in the field. I was a Santa Fe adobe-baby! My father (Aram Farber of Adobeworks) was a contractor for over 40 years and my mother (Laurie Farber-Condon) is a realtor in Santa Fe. I've had quite a few careers: professional dancer, actor, woodworker. Construction was a natural progression after I returned home to New Mexico.
What is your favorite part of being a builder?
I love the creativity and collaboration that goes into building a home. I get to work with incredible craftspeople and every day presents a new challenge.
Name one thing you would change about your field.
I would like to change the amount of waste created by the industry. It's one of the reasons I am such a fan of B.PUBLIC
Tell us about your experience working with B.PUBLIC Prefab.
It was a pleasure to work with such a knowledgeable team that is passionate about sustainable building. I did the training in Las Vegas, NM and started my first B.Public build a few months later. We assembled all of the wall and roof panels in 4.5 hours. It was incredible! The team was very supportive throughout the permit and construction process. I had MANY questions and they answered every single one. They did regular site visits and celebrated with us when the project was completed.
Describe your ideal client.
My ideal Client has a unique vision for their build. They are not afraid to play with design and color. They love New Mexico and are interested in preserving its natural beauty and culture.
