Step One - Getting to know each other

We offer a very different option for new construction. This is an extremely high quality, progressively green, super sustainable way to build. We find it helpful to meet you and have time to share the details of our system and how you might consider working with us. Schedule time to discuss your project in person or virtually.  Our design staff can walk through your design possibilities and options. You will get a good sense of what to expect around the project schedule, costs, and the process of completing a successful project.  If we are a good fit, then we can schedule a Step 2 meeting.

Step Two - Let’s talk about your land and home need

You have homework! Follow the link and complete the program questionnaire. This is where you can start to tell us about your project needs, dreams, specifics, location and share with us some of your property information. If you have inspiration like Pinterest boards, snapshots, napkin sketches - this is a place you can upload all of that information to your project file.

Step Three - We are going to review the details

At this stage, we will go over your project information. From the description you provide, we will create a design agreement that goes into detail about our process, fees, and timeline based on your program. Once the program and agreement are in place we will schedule time with our design staff.

Step Four - Site considerations and placing your project

There are two important things we do in this phase: we look at the opportunities and restrictions on your land and evaluate the feasibility of panelized construction for the location. After reviewing the property, we create a preliminary site plan for placement of the home, access points, additional buildings (garages, storage, existing structure), pedestrian and vehicle flow on the property. The site sketch will also identify landmarks, utilities, wells, septics, and other key features that are visible. We will also identify a standard floor plan or sketch a custom floor plan and place it on the site sketch. Design materials and evaluation reports will be provided to the client for consideration, review, and approval. In-person site visits or virtual site-visits are dependent on project location.

Step Five - Design clarification

Select Interior and exterior finishes and finalize a floor plan that is optimized for your property and climate. Sketches created for building elevations, roofline options, foundation suggestions, and additional design elements as requested by the client.

Step six - Let’s meet your Builders!

Every project needs a local builder. We will give you immediate cost for your high-performance building envelope and estimate from our closest preferred install subcontractors. The rest of your building costs will be the responsibility of your builder for site, finishes, and completion. We would like to meet your builder as early in the process as possible. We will support them in learning about high-performance buildings, our engineering details, delivery timetable, and the details they will receive in our builder set.

Step Seven - Builder set, Permit ready & Final License agreement
